Reading Harry Potter books is a very bad thing for me to do. Why? Oh, you see, whenever I read a book, I find a character to identify with. I try to stop this happening but, well, it's not easy to control, and slowly I slip into that character's psyche and adopt their mannerisms. It's something I really try hard to control, but you see, I'm not doing well. In fact, today I was heard to say, "This is my new friend... Look at all the bubbles!" This was concerning a bottle of carbonated water. Thus I am typing up this journal entry: an apology and explanation to those of you who have to put up with, well, me.

And, you'd think I'd grow out of this but I don't, "Harry's heart began to pump very fast indeed. Defense against external penetration?"

Harry doesn't argue very well. This may be my Jewishness speaking, but I feel that if you want to stop Sirius from getting into a duel with Snape, you shouldn't just shout "no", you should shout something influentially guilting like, "Sirius, please, you're the only family I have left!" O.k., maybe this isn't something one wants to admit to in front of Snape, but sometimes it's better to consider someone else.... Just sayin'.

a. Huzzah! Have you started reading it yet?
b. Sorry, can't say, don't wanna be teased.
c. Hey, Jewish guilt has something going for it! I think if Harry learned to guilt like a Jew... but then, he wasn't raised Jewish, and it's just one of those thing, y'know? You have it or you don't. There's a subtlety and art to it.

Harry can't put up a good argument because he's too self-righteous. He's basically a fanatic. He devoutly believes that his cause is the right one and that all actions performed in the name of such a cause are correct. I mean, the things he says to Malfoy's mother!

You mean, the Prince himself or the book? Which bit're you at?
